Serendipity. That’s what Bitterblumen is: finding gold while looking for copper.

Our head brewer’s initial intention was to brew a Helles Lager, a sweet and malty beer still very light in colour. Then the usual happened: he likes hops a lot and slipped a bit too much bitterness and hops aroma in the brew.

After the (positive) shock we got when tasting the first batch brewed, the recipe has been adjusted in the direction the beer wanted to go: crispy and hoppy while maintaining a malty roundness.

Noble hops from the German region of the Tettnang give a very classic floral and herbal aromatic bouquet that dances with our beloved lager yeast strain and selected German malts, resulting in clean, easy and comforting drinking experience.

A beer that can quietly stay in its place not distracting you from a conversation or a football match, but at the same time has something to say if given the opportunity.

Tysk pilsner: En lys og tør pilsnerøl, med markant humlebitterhed og indslag af DMS. Det hårde og sulfatrige vand i Nordtyskland gør at øllet har en mere kantet og humlebitter profil end de tjekkiske pilsnere.
